Round Natural Diamonds

The round brilliant is the most popular diamond shape and the one cut specifically to maximise brilliance. Its 57 or 58 facets are arranged to return as much light as possible to the eye, which is why a well-cut round looks bright even in low light.

Round is also the only shape that receives an official cut grade on a GIA report, so it is the easiest shape to compare like for like. Prioritise an Excellent or Very Good cut first, then balance colour and clarity against your budget.
